The average income of IT professionals in Australia is $65,456 per annum according to Manpower’s 2006 IT Industry Review. IT salaries in Sydney are 13% higher than the national average.
80% of Australia’s IT professionals are male, 67% are tertiary qualified and less than two thirds were born in Australia
Australia’s 341,000 IT professionals, predominantly:
- reside on the eastern seaboard and in capital cities
- are aged 25-49
- work full time
- work in the private sector
- work in small to medium enterprises
